Aluminium 1050 consists of at least 99.5% Al, with trace amounts of Fe, Si, Cu, Mn, Mg, Cr, Zn, and Ti. It has tensile strength in the range of 70–95 MPa, yield strength of about 35–55 MPa, and ductility of up to 35% elongation. The alloy has superior electrical conductivity (~59% IACS) as well as thermal conductivity (~230 W/m·K). Its corrosion resistance in wet and atmospheric environments is excellent, though the strength is low relative to alloyed grades. It is readily cold-worked and anodized and is suitable where purity and malleability are paramount over mechanical strength.
