Aluminium 2014 has 3.9–5% Cu, 0.2–0.8% Mn, 0.2–0.8% Mg, and minor Fe, Si. In T6 temper, it provides tensile strength of ~415–445 MPa, yield strength of ~345–375 MPa, with ≈10–15% elongation. Excellent fatigue life and machinability are provided. Although not as resistant to corrosion as pure aluminium, it can be anodized or coated. Heat treatment provides hardness up to HB 120–150. 2014 is a balance between high mechanical strength and moderate toughness, suitable for heavy duty applications without losing manufacturability.

To maintain Aluminium 2014 bars, regularly clean them with mild soap and water to prevent corrosion. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures, and inspect for signs of fatigue or wear.
Aluminium 2014 bars and rods are not ideal for high-temperature applications. While they offer high strength, their performance decreases at elevated temperatures, limiting their suitability for environments above 150°C (302°F).
