6063 aluminium usually contains about 0.2–0.6% Si, 0.45–0.9% Mg, and trace amounts of Fe, Mn, Cr. In T6 temper, its tensile strength ranges from 205–245 MPa, with a yield strength of around 170 MPa and elongation of 8–12%. It shows excellent corrosion resistance, especially after anodizing, and has good weldability. While slightly less strong than 6082, its formability and aesthetic finish make it a popular choice for precision-shaped products. The forgings have a uniform grain structure for better integrity.
