Carbon Steel EN-1A Bars or free-cutting mild steel usually contain Carbon (0.10–0.13%), Manganese (0.30–0.60%), Phosphorus (max 0.05%), and Sulfur (0.12–0.20%). These components help the material achieve excellent machinability, which makes it suitable for automated operations and fine surface finishes. The mechanical strength consists of a tensile strength ranging from 400–600 MPa, yield strength of approximately 250 MPa, and elongation of 20–30%.
