Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy known for its remarkable resistance to hydrochloric acid and other potent reducing agents. Its typical makeup consists of around 69–71% nickel and 26–30% molybdenum, with only trace amounts of iron, cobalt, carbon, silicon, and manganese. In terms of mechanical properties, it boasts a tensile strength of about 760 MPa, a yield strength of around 350 MPa, and an elongation of 40–50%. Hastelloy B2 is celebrated for its excellent ductility, thermal stability, and weldability.
