Stainless Steel 446 (UNS S44600) is a high-chromium ferritic alloy that contains 23–27% chromium, along with trace amounts of manganese, silicon, carbon, sulfur, and phosphorus. It boasts exceptional resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and scaling at high temperatures. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 485 to 620 MPa, a yield strength of about 275 MPa, and a density of 7.7 g/cm³. While it may have lower ductility and impact resistance compared to austenitic grades, it excels in thermal cycling conditions, making it a great choice for components that face extreme heat and corrosive gases.
